Whether you call it a soft serve ice cream, a Mr Whippy, or a ’99, you are sure to enjoy making this summertime staple. It is one of my most favourite patterns that I’ve ever created. There are many tricks and techniques but fear not nothing is difficult – there is visual help every step of the way so you are never confused, and can create this summery deliciousness with ease.
Description
Creating this soft serve ice cream pattern was such fun. You first create the actual swirl using an easy technique that has plenty of photos to follow along with, then you create the cone in rounds, then you combine the two. And would you believe that it is still a low-sew pattern?
I used Paintbox Cotton DK which creates the perfect ice cream size – just like a Mr Whippy from the ice cream van, only this one will last.
